Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana (UKDW) sends two students and one lecturer to South Korea for Hanseo Global Leadership Camp (HGLC) 2019. This program is organized by Hanseo University from June 27 - July 3, 2019. HGLC is an annual program aims to promote mutual understanding among students from different countries with different cultures and give opportunity for students to develop their leadership skills as well as broaden their global perspective. Since 2015, UKDW has been sending students to participate in HGLC each year without fail. This year, Kevin Valiant and YudhistiraAudriPranata, both from Informatics Department were selected as UKDW’s representatives after undergoing the interview selection conducted by the Office of International Affairs (OIA) and the Office of Student Affairs and Alumni on May 14, 2019.

“When I heard the interview result, I almost couldn’t believe it. It’s a wonderful thing to be selected to join this program and I’m so grateful for that. I hope that UKDW students from freshmen to final year students will be motivated to take international and exchange program opportunities. Don’t be afraid to try and come out of your comfort zone because joining international program abroad will be useful for our personal development, upgrading our English or other foreign language proficiency, building a network of friends across countries, and learning about different cultures from different parts of the world,” Audri said.

These two students will be accompanied by Frista, S.H., S.E., M.S.Akt., a lecturer of Accounting department who also serves as the Secretary of the Center of Entrepreneurship and Innovation (Centrino). The opportunity to visit the private university whose campuses located in Seosan, Taean, and Namsan, will also be a chance to strengthen the partnership between UKDW and Hanseo University.

The representatives from UKDW will join Hanseo students as well as students from South Africa, India, Tajikistan, and Pakistan to engage in different kinds of activities such as lectures, team discussion, flight facility tour, marine sports tour, voluntary service, global conference, global walk - a 12 km walking activity, trips to historical sites, and global festival.
