Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana (UKDW) received a visit from HAI.lt, an education and leadership company based in Lithuania, on Monday, 4 November 2019. Taking place at the Rectorate Meeting Room, the meeting was also attended by UKDW's Office of International Affairs and the newly established Office of Institutional Advancement.
UKDW Rector Dr. Henry Feriadi said that UKDW welcomes the opportunity to explore the possibilities of working with HAI.lt.
Vytaute Stankaitiene who serves as Project Manager for HAI.lt mentioned that HAI.lt is the representative of Lithuanian universities such as Vilnius University, Kaunas Technology University (KTU), Vytautas Magnus University, etc. The woman who introduced herself as Vyta proposed an internship program for master's degree students. "We would like to offer one to two months internship program in Lithuanian company where students can also get the opportunity to write their thesis," she said.
The meeting further discussed program fees, living costs, visa issues, and the possibility for undergraduate students to join a similar program.
“The living cost is around €500 per month, including apartment rent, meals, and transportation. We can also help the students to find an apartment or dormitory. We can give some options fitting with the budget,” Vyta added.
Talking about Lithuanian visa, Vyta mentioned that Indonesian students need to go to the Embassy of Hungarian in Jakarta to apply for the visa because Lithuania does not have a consulate office in Indonesia. The nearest Lithuanian embassy from Indonesia is in Tokyo, Japan. Another option is to obtain Schengen Visa since Lithuania is a member state of the Schengen area.
Wishing for a reciprocal partnership, UKDW also welcomes Lithuanian students who are interested to join an international program in UKDW such as summer program and international service-learning program.
The visit was concluded with a campus tour. During this occasion, the representative from HAI.lt got the chance to visit a class - Traveling Health Class, and interact with UKDW students. [drr]
